I use this bulb in ZigBee mode to automate a porch light in Home Assistant. It’s not rated for outdoor use but nobody has to know. Mine sits on 30% brightness for casual outdoor lighting and 50% for bad weather. I use 100% for doing stuff in the dark. It’s astonishingly bright at max brightness, I don’t even need a flashlight.Pros:-Everyone on the block turns porch lights on at night. I have mine on a schedule so my light will turn on even if nobody is home. I also have automations for adjusting the brightness when certain doors get manipulated.-Extremely bright at 100%-Cool gimmicks you can incorporate into your home security setup like making the bulb blink/flash. It also has a candle mode that makes the brightness waver.Neutral:-DIY needed to make the bulb do creative things. Bluetooth is limited, you’ll probably want a ZigBee system.-High cost per bulb unless you you get the white one with no color temp adjustment.Cons:-The color is literally not white, it’s much closer to yellow sunlight. You’re supposed to use this bulb indoors??? With this color temperature and brightness range it makes more sense to put these bulbs outside contrary to what the instructions say.

This bulb is great. I don’t know the CRI but the quality of light is noticeably higher and more natural than other high lumen bulbs. Super easy to use through the Hue app.

Got this for a stairwell that had only 1 switch located at the top of the stairs so that we could combine with 2 Aurora rotart switches adding a second switch downstairs. No Hue Bridge and never using the Bluetooth/wifi functions on the App so can’t speak to any of those functions. The combo with 2 Aurora switches worked perfect. An expensive setup but cheaper and less permanent than running new wiring in a 140 year old house lol.It is definitely a bright bulb too and gives off more heat than other lower wattage Hue bulbs but that’s to be expected. With LEDs that heat should only shorten the lifespan of the bulb itself rather than be any kind of actual risk.Color temp is pleasant too – not too warm, not too cool – fine in daytime or evening in the hallway. Dims nicely with no flicker or stutters.

I was puzzled trying to get this into my Apple HomeKit. You have to download the hue app first and add it, then sync your hue bridge to the app and dig in the menus to sync to HomeKit. Eventually figured it out. The brightness is better than the standard hue bulbs but not crazy bright. Certain colors temps are much dimmer than others. 3000K is the brightest by far.

I tried 3 different brands of bulbs that were supposed to easily connect with Alexa. Nope they were a hassle until I bought the Phillips bulb. It connected and worked right away with my Alexa device. I love it even though it is a bit pricey for just one bulb.

Added this to my existing Philips HUE Lighting System that is 2 years old. HUE Hub is required for use. Great bulb.

Was looking for a brighter light for my living room. This is just what I was looking for. I love the colors and love that it attaches to Google! Will buy again!

My wife wanted something brighter for the kitchen – this worked. And it does all the other cool Hue stuff.
